"What kind of problem?" I asked, sitting down with my freshly poured and spiked tea. I didn't even ask Teeg if he wanted any. I was still pissed at him.

"A worker in an electronics factory went crazy and killed twenty of his coworkers after getting his hands on a laser pistol somehow. And then, two weeks later, a secretary at a legal firm kills six people there. The governor of the Realm on Surnath asked us to investigate. We thought it was just a copy crime. Bel was in so he volunteered. Was there for three days before he came up missing."

"That's terrible," I said. "And you tried mindspeech and everything?"

"Yes. No answer. Bel isn't one to fall easily into a trap. So we're all concerned."

"Me, too," I nodded. I'd known Bel when I was a conscript in the Regular Alliance Army.

"Norian and I are willing to pay top credit if you'll work a special assignment on this."


Wizard Bel is missing, after investigating two crimes on Surnath. Reah agrees to work this special assignment for the ASD, and discovers that Bel's disappearance is linked to far deeper and much darker crimes. The criminals behind these crimes hold the survival of both Alliances in their grip and it is up to Reah to expose them before their final plans become a reality.

Why?

I have been a huge fan of Connie Suttle for quite some time and this story has me asking why? I know female struggle has been a running theme for this series and the blood series but this is probably the worst she has done. I have always supported some of her questionable decisions because it made some emotions ring true. The major factor for me was the way Lissa allowed her children to treat their mate. I will still read more of her work to see where it goes but I was very disappointed with the turn of events. By this point I think only one mate would be best for her maybe two and after reading this it will be clear that only two are worthy to be her mate God meddling aside.

Fun mindless escapism, written at juvenile level but not appropriate for juvenile

I've read all Blood Destiny,Ir'indicti and High Demon book. The author is prolific and although she is starting to creep her prices upward, still reasonably priced. The books are generally fast, fun, very mindless reads.

This book could be viewed as a juvenile teen fantasy, but sex makes it very age inappropriate. The series writing tends to be repetitive. Lonely woman feeling sorry for herself. But she is somehow irresistible to males, a gourmet cook and marries multiple hunks. The "hunks" act very immaturely (which is kind of hard to believe for mates often supposedly thousands of years old) treating her badly (does the author have a history we should know about?). Only the heroine can defeat the evil that threatens. The heroine discovers even more powers, finds a few more mates to jump into bed with, cooks a few "delicious" meals and saves the world. Her mates then rediscover how wonderful she is and crawl back begging her forgiveness. Occasionally a god intervenes if things get too tangled up and author can't otherwise straighten out the mess she has created. The Ir'indicti series differs because of a male hero, who essentially gets no mates and seems to be ultimately rejected by those mates he desires. Doesn't seem fair for the males, but author is female.

The story is predictable. The female heroines are terrible role models for young teens because of their blatant jumping into multiple beds, their casual killing of bystanders and villeins without trials, and their stereotype of a woman's worth being partly defined as a great cook. Too many side descriptions of sauces and main course dishes also detracts.

The redeeming points are:
The book is inexpensive
The book is very fast read

For those reasons I continue to read the series as fun escapism. If you want to kill a few hours, go for it. But be prepared to occasionally be frustrated with idiotic characters.

***Spoiler alert****
In this book the author attempts to show how Reah's mates acting stupidlity can be explained by a god (who is supposedly thousands if not millions of years old) acting like a two year old, intervening and causing problems that did not have to exist. Hard to believe, but at least you only have to stomach believing in one idiot instead of several.

I cannot endorse this book as intellectual, deep or redeeming role models. But is a very quick fast paced read and still relatively inexpensive.

This is a heartbreaker!!

Be warned this book is a real heartbreaker even as it is a must read for fans! Demon's Revenge is the fifth book of the High Demon series concerning Reah Silver. Per Kifirin Reah is the savior of the High Demon race. She has certainly been grossly mistreated for the supposed savior of a God's favorite race! This chapter of her life is pure hellish. At the end of Demon's Quest (fourth book) Kifirin (the Dark God) said he would have to isolate Reah and it would bring more pain for her. Kifirin may be a God, he is also the king of understatements. This book chronicles the hardships and heartbreaks Reah is forced to face one after the other because of the actions of the Dark Lord.

Any comment at all is a spoiler for those who have not read the book yet. However, one instance will give a clue of how bad it gets: except for the appearance of The Shining Woman Reah would have been brutally raped on assignment for the ASD!! By book's end Reah is driven by heartbreak, betrayal and desperation to the top of Baetrah, where she is ready to take her own life. Even if all her mates and friends loveless actions are the result of Kifirin's meddling, how can she ever forgive what they have done to her. This book makes how Griffin treated Lissa look like the actions of a saint!

Demon's Revenge does however answer many of the questions left from prior books and is a good solid well written addition to the High Demon series. Am really looking forward to Demon's Dream and hoping Reah will finally find the happiness she deserves.

I have been looking for an art book like this for years

Mixing colors when I paint has always been a thing for me. I have been looking for a book for a long time that would give some formulas for mixing colors. This book does not disappoint.

Very interesting, quite thorough book on color.

I liked the information provided. Easy to understand and good organization of the information provided. Wish the photos would pop out larger. Some of the pictures mentioned in the text were not to be found. Overall a keeper for the color recipes.

What a Gyp -- another accumulation of Internet recipes.

Here we go again -- lifting recipes off the Internet and trying to pass them off as your own and selling them. This time, it's by "Jonathan Doue" without benefit of his "M.D." title. Funny thing, while this "author" is busy lifting these recipes off the Internet, he and his publisher, Encore Books, claim the copyright and WE are not supposed to "amend, distribute, sell, use, quote or paraphrase any part of or any content within this book without the full consent of the author, publishing company, and/'or copyright owner." But how can these cut and pasters copyright things they "liberated" from copyrighted web sites becomes the question of honesty.

But THEY think they are entitled to lift it off the copyrighted web site such as the "Nutella Oreo Cookies" in this book which is lifted word for word from kirbiecravings.com under date of 4-11-2012, with the title of Double Nutella Oreo Cookies. Thieves not wanting to be "stolen" from has to be some sort of George Carlin comedy routine -- as he used to say, a contradiction in terms.

"No-Bake Nutella Peanut Butter Cookies" is word for word off thekitchn.com recipe #160655 and not original with this supposed author.

"Nutella Brownies" is word for word off the web site bunsinmyoven.com and NOT the invention of this rip-off author and his publisher.

"Crunchy Nutella Cookies" is word for word off the web site recipegoldmine.com and not original with this supposed author.

"Nutella Almond Cookies" is word for word recipe #3381622 off food.com submitted by Mrs. H based on a recipe by well known chef Giada De Laurentis' recipe.

"Nutella Banana Swirl Muffins" is word for word from web site thenovicechefblog.com and not the work or words of this supposed author or publisher.

"Nutella Fruit Bars with Nuts" is word for word off the Internet site lafujimama.com and not anything originating with either this rip-off recipe publisher or their possibly fake name author that sometimes is a "doctor" and other times, not so much..

And on and on and on it goes. Lots and lots of cheats selling books they never "wrote" but just cut and pasted off the Internet. Fake author that is sometimes a "doctor" and sometimes not with a publisher that doesn't seem to mind stealing recipes from other web sites and the people who own those copyrights rather than having authors good enough to write their own original recipes.

I love Nutella

The recipes are easy to follow and there are a good variety of them. The recipe for brownies is very good. I like the idea of using Nutella in so many ways, instead of just a spread on crackers. Keep those recipes coming, it gives chocolate a whole new dimension!

I love nutella, so what could be better than a cook book?? I liked that the recipes were simple and easy to make. I don't like recipes that require alot of ingredients. These recipes i can make with my grandkids. If you like nutella you will like the recipes in this book. Get baking.
