Disappointing and frustrating. Contains SPOILERS

As someone who does these things for a living, I have to ask - what has happened to editing and proofreading in e books? It's 'navel', not 'naval'. 'Put out' is two words, not one. It's only professional to offer a cleanly edited product with as few misspelled words and punctuation errors as possible - preferably none - when you're charging money for said product.
As far as this trilogy, I don't get the comparisons to FSOG or Crossfire. They are nothing alike. Neither Christian Grey nor Gideon Cross enjoyed hurting their loves, and both men confronted their demons and had far healthier relationships at the ends of their stories. There was so much to love about James Cavendish and I was so close, but in the end he fell short of redemption in my eyes. Unlike Christian and Gideon, he got off on hurting Bianca and never changed. He neither faced nor came to terms with the things in his past that made him a sadist and he had no remorse when he bruised her or hurt her emotionally.
Bianca never overcame her own damaged psyche and remained a masochist to the end. She would never safe word, but would end up sobbing or stung by his emotional cruelty. But then all he had to do was climb out his rear end and smile and all was forgiven? Just, NO. Screw that. That's not love. It bothered me terribly that she rarely got to touch him, that HE was always sexually in control. I can't be sure, but I don't think the poor girl ever even got to grab his butt during sex! Her hands were always bound and she was never allowed to have carte blanche on his body to make him unravel. He was supposed to be in love with her! Love means give and take and it wouldn't have killed him to be vulnerable once or twice and let her top. Wouldn't have usurped his control to show neediness or beg her please just once. But nope. Not SuperDom.
I get that this is BDSM. I don't mind it in light doses in erotic romance. But when it leaves bruises, or a dom/boyfriend tortures his sub/girlfriend by locking her in the dark, denies her the physical release of sex and withholds his affection in anger and then shows not a shred of remorse, and then without fail she just lets it slide it's not enjoyable, and it's not romance. It's just sad.
These two never dealt with how screwed up they were individually. Two damaged souls coming together because they 'get' one another without trying to fix what is broken just makes a bigger mess. James almost had me so many times but made me hate him too often. Bianca never made me care for her at all. She angered me because she was weak and pathetic. I skimmed through most of 'Grounded'.
The last few series I've read have been highly disappointing, yet they all came highly recommended or had high reviews. That's not a good trend. This is the last of my hard earned monry I'll spend on authors I don't know or who are not, in my experience, a sure thing.

Love James and Bianca, but also Stephan

Bianca is really coming out of her shell more, expanding her circle of friends and family beyond Stephan and even James. She and James have a mutual understanding about their unique relationship and it works for them, it gives them something to live for and a way to heal from their own pasts. Seeing Bianca fully surrender to her feelings and James being the man who will support and love her regardless is what makes them solid. I already loved Stephan right from the very beginning, but this book seals the deal as Stephan being the most amazing best friend ever. The conclusion was great for them because they had a real future to look forward to together, despite anything from the past.

Good but not great

This is my least favorite one of the series so far. I get mad at James a lot in this book as he is very much about him all the time. Hopefully the 4th one will be more like the first 2. All in all it is a good series.
