Some useful information, lots of typos and formatting errors

I did find this book useful as it explains some of the more obscure features of the RX-100 and gives practical suggestions for which settings to use. I can only speak for the Kindle version which appears to have been rushed into publication and is so full of typos and formatting errors as to be difficult to read in places. If you can overlook the horrendous page formatting, missing or incorrect characters and typos the underlying information is very helpful.

Good author, lousy production values

If you have (or are considering) the Sony RX100 or RX100 MII (or whatever they officially call it), you're going to need this book. The other book (which shall remain nameless) sells for $10 and is quite poorly written (judging by the Kindle download sample). This one is much more interesting and written by someone who really knows his stuff - unfortunately, the Kindle production is fairly awful. There are a couple of tables in the book which are completely indecipherable - they appear to be properly done in the hard copy book, but this is inexcusable. In addition, the photos throughout are so small as to be almost useless for the author's purpose - and he knows it, since he offers a free downloadable PDF to make up for it... unfortunately the PDF isn't a whole lot better.
Nevertheless, this book contains stuff you need and won't find anyplace else... So - Writing and Content: FIVE, Production and Execution: TWO... I averaged it to 3 stars, but be warned.

Due to the lack of proper manual, this books is a must to rule your RX100

I guess that when you bought your beautiful RX100 felt a bit disappointed. Not with the camera itself, but with Sony. It's insulting that you spent 600+ USD on a complicated electronic gadget and they didn't even bothered to include a proper user manual. Me and most of the people felt just disappointed.
Fortunately, this author came quickly to the scene and published what Sony should have included with your purchase. The book is an excellent guide to ALL the features of the camera. The author nicely walks you through every single setting your camera has, and gives plenty of useful tips and tricks to get the most of the RX100. Sony should be paying a very good salary to the author for making their job.
I'm not a beginner but a seasoned enthusiast on photography. I loved the middle-advanced technical writing the author uses on the book as the RX100 is intended for such public. I guess novices will not feel particularly comfortable at the beginning of the reading, but if interested enough, the book is going to be some sort of advance training on photography.
Please be aware, that this and any OTHER BOOK on photography, should be read on full color to appreciate its contents and understand the explanation fully. So, don't bother to download the kindle edition. The author sends you the PDF and the kindle editions, so that is not a problem.
In just a few words: if you have an RX100 (an want to fully learn how to use it), this book is a MUST.
