Communicating System modeling

you can find several book to understand how to have a good system breakdown structure and you can find several books to understand how to use UML diagraming to fit your system architecture/Engineering approach and then land safely your system specification. After 14 years of system modeling concrete pratice with UML, I used to read a lot of those books, enougth to do not found any thing new within a UML book... But this book put a very good and special foccus on system behavior modeling and diffrents ways to model communication between two or several end points of a system or interoperable system of system.
A lot to learn from this book, not only UML behavioral modeling simple tip&tricks but authors are reflecting in the book a very good structured architects minds and they provide in the book simple samples based on real experience around UML modeling of communicating systems.

Very didactic and well elaborated protocols+UML book.

I've attentively red this book and I find it a very good one. It starts from very simple facts, getting deeper slowly, and reaching a respectable level of detail. I find it very didactical, and I believe that it might be successfully used as a textbook in both, undergraduate and graduate courses. In fact I'll do it. I recommend it widely.

This is a good book and helps to show modeling applied a real world problem. Unfortunately, it also never reaches practical levels. The student or researcher is left with a long ways to go to apply what is shown in the book to understanding current or emerging real protocols. Given the cost, even more the Kindle version, I think it is severely over priced.
